Five years ago I shared an article on our Facebook page that listed the 10 worst cities to live in Georgia according to Roadsnacks. RoadSnacks uses a variety of criteria that includes population density, unemployment rates, lowest home values, adjusted median income, education, and crime, and several more.
Since the data from the 2020 Census has been released I thought it was time to update this page.
They analyzed 157 Georgia cities with populations over 5,000 and here were their ten worst cities based on that criteria. Sorry Swainsboro, but you led the pack as the worst city in Georgia according to Roadsnack at least.
Here were the bottom 10 for 2015: Swainsboro, Bainbridge, Thomaston, Eastman, Fitzgerald, Sandersville, Fort Valley, Jesup, Cordele, Vidalia.
Nearly all of the top ten best places to live 5 years ago were Atlanta exburbs/suburbs with the sole exception of Wilmington Island outside of Savannah. The top 10 list included
Alpharetta, Roswell, Mountain Park, Sandy Springs, Decatur, Johns Creek, Druid Hills, Wilmington Island, Suwanee, Dunwoody.
If you don’t see your city listed in the lists below I have included the Excel spreadsheets with the data from 2015 and 2021. Also please note that the 2021 data only includes 124 cities whereas the data from 2015 includes 157 cities. Where did you city
