This could be very big news! This bill is needed and long overdue. In numerous whistleblower cases I have reported on here, the state always managed to weasel out with their sovereign immunity defense. No matter what the injustices or transgressions that were involved the sovereign immunity defense was a get out of jail free card.

State lawmakers on Monday are set to review a bill drafted to undo the effects of a Georgia Supreme Court ruling that said the state’s sovereign immunity blocked lawsuits seeking injunctive relief. House Judiciary Chairman Wendell Willard, R-Sandy Springs, said he filed House Bill 59 in direct response to the state Supreme Court’s decision last February.
